This is pretty good and (most) of weapons are balanced in their way.
The key is to understand which ones are good in early and which ones are good in late and/or when maxed.

Just some tips to improve the game, perhaps:

- Since the final boss deals no damage on touch, standing on its own rails and shoot him horizontally makes the fight too easy.

- Having max stats makes the late game a bit too easy. I literally AFKed a level and I finished it with still 4 hearts out of 5. With three different weapon builds. Maybe you could add some elite versions of enemies (recolors) that deal double damage in late game?

- The game lacks a Pause button and a quick guide to explain what each weapon does. Even if the latter is just to make the game more player-friendly to those not into roguelites, the former is kinda mandatory in my opinion.

Thanks for playing!
Valid points. But there is a pause button :). Though, yeah, there's little indication there is one, it's only in description.

Quite an impressive remake, but there're some things you could improve:

1- The game has no Author comments. You sure you have nothing to say about the videogame you created?

2- If you get hit while your snake body closes an upper corner, you may get stuck forever (happened to me)

3- I would add some tougher late-game enemies or even boss fights because the game seems to not get harder at all after a certain amount of points (the snake body doesn't even get longer).

soft-locking fixed :)

Good little pastime, even if pretty short.

Here're some tips if you need any:
- The "- box" shinks and reduces multiplier by 0.25, but the "+ box" increases it by 0.5 and enlarges of the same rateo. However, it's not a good idea to alternate them to get a solid +0.25 while keeping same sizes. Since gems' spawn and circles' spawn are not connected, you might want to rush for as many points as possible in early, so the best is to get all "+ boxes" in early and only when circles start getting too much you go for "- boxes" and try to go as far as possible.

- Since dash also reduces circles' size, it's better to play aggressive in early and willingly dash into the first 5 or 6 circles to make them as small as possible. Avoid doing this in late game, since one or two big circles ain't gonna affect your play so much compared to the other 13 little circles.

- The angry cube doesn't help so much, since there's a limit to how small you can make circles by dashing.
- The greedy cube is what I used to get the highscore of 150 for the achievement (precisely 157 points. not my highscore, though). Even if it's huge, you can get about 80 points very soon; just remember to use dash as much as possible.
- The chunky one looks good because circles are slower and you start with +0,50 multiplier, but I don't suggest it. In a game that gets harder as time passes, going slow is a terrible idea.
- Mike has only upsides but getting used to that speed is not easy; very good if you've the time to learn and master it.
- Yppah is... ... kinda awful? Having to jump to get high-value gems is a very different mechanic and it's ok, but being totally vulnerable makes it incredibly hard. Not worthy
- The cyclops's feature is not an upside. Even if you shrink the circles, new ones may be big anyway. And of course, no dash=no party.
- PAIN cube is what takes the most skills. Even too much skills. You can try it, but I don't think it'll bring you a higher score than what you can get with Greedy, Mike or even just Happy.

That being said, there's a problem with the saving system, and my save file gets lost if I return after 10 minutes or even less.

Sulfur-Cretin responds:

Bro, I was thinking of leaving the game here, but with all this I'll think about making some big balance changes, thanks!

For some reason the 25th level seems bugged:
I reach the up-right corner and I take the key, but not a single lock-block disappears; I can't reach the key in the bot-left corner, I can't reach the inkwell, I can't finish the level. Dead end.

nulledwine responds:

Hi, I have just updated it and level 25 should be fixed. Please let me know if there are any other problems

Maybe a bit short, but definitely good material; expecially the music.

One annoying bug I found: in world 3, when the moving spikes get back in the ground they actually come out from the other side (if the platform is thin enough); They're not visible there, though, resulting in invisible obstacles that, of course, oneshot unaware players that believe they got killed by some supernatural force.

Also, the feature to pick up and throw corpses adds some flavor, but it's almost useless. I completed the game without using it succesfully at all.

YewTM responds:

Thanks for the feedback!
The idea behind the corpse feature isn't so much that you need to use them to solve levels, but rather you can use them to cheese a level if it is too difficult for you. Although I do suppose the fact a couple levels exist that require their usage hampers on that idea.

Very good and relaxing game!
One little "bug": when you finish the game and get back to level select, by pressing Right on the 15th level it seems to point a secret level 16, but after you try to open it the game goes wide-close and it remains in the level select menu, without any actual change.

Is it supposed to be an actual secret level/feature that doesn't work or it's just a minor bug?

Diemorth responds:

It's a bug actually, unfortunately so far it's only 15 levels :v

I played games like this before, but it's the first time I see the "locket" mechanics that forces to choose moves according to its timing. Nice job!

Also, I truly appreciate an italian translation in the game; it was an unexpected and welcome surprise.
Just a little revision, if you wanna correct it:
- The italian word for "resume" is not "riassumere"; it's "riprendere" or, more specifical, "riprendi" or "continua"
- I don't know the english version, but also "Torna al livelloselezionare" is uncorrect; the correct version is "Torna a selezione livello".
- "Volume musicale" and "Suoni volume" could be "Volume musica" and "Volume suoni"
- Since you didn't try to translate I suppose you wanted to leave it in english, but if you want to know, the correct translation of "Start game" is "Inizia gioco".

The rest of the translation should be quite accurate. You're welcome

MrNannings responds:

I made some changes to the game and included some of your translations.
Thanks a lot!
